The National Conference on Role of Academic Libraries for Excellence in Research (ROALER) 2018 hopes to come up with a wider view that Academic Libraries can play a key role in achieving the excellence in Research and Learning. Libraries can sensitise the user community about the appropriate user of information through training, research and capacity building programmes. Increasingly, more emphasis has been given for improving quality in teaching, learning and research productivity. Developments like Incubation Centres, Science parks, Research Parks, Skill Development Centres, Startup support centres have increased expectations from the libraries in their respective academic institutions. As a result, Academic Libraries have been working hard to make themselves relevant and playing a meaningful role to fulfil the vision and mission of the parent institution. Academic Libraries in their respective Institutions are redefining, their collection development policies, resource sharing mechanisms, new services and reconfiguring their space. It is with this concern and in order to navigate successfully through these developments, this three days national conference on “National Conference on Role of Academic Libraries for Excellence in Research” at Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Bhopal from 18-20 January, 2018 is being organized.
Objective
- To provide an opportunity to Library professional to share their innovative ideas, experiences, new initiatives, research work, best practices etc.
- To discuss the different set of library services provided to support the research work at the parent institutions.
- To understand as to how the academic libraries are transforming themselves in the midst of rapid ICT developments.
- To learn best and innovative management strategies, tools & technologies used to create and deliver research support services.
- To discuss current issues, recent developments and their impact, and future challenges to prepare future academic libraries for excellence in research.

Program Structure of the Conference

- Day 2: Invited presentations by eminent professionals, Theme based presentations, Select Product Presentations, workshop, Panel discussion, & Conference Dinner.
- Day 3: Invited presentations by eminent professionals, Theme based presentations, Panel discussion, Select Product Presentations, Valedictory Session & Conference Dinner.
